Full-Time – $24–$28/hr
Nuand designs and manufactures bladeRF software-defined radio products. We are expanding our in-house PCB manufacturing operation in San Francisco and are hiring experienced SMT line operators and electronics manufacturing technicians.
This is a hands-on position operating and supporting an SMT production line manufacturing high-density RF and digital circuit boards.
Our assemblies include 0201 passives, QFNs, BGAs, FPGAs, RF ICs, power electronics, and other fine-pitch components.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate SMT pick-and-place equipment
- Set up and operate solder paste printing equipment
- Load component reels, feeders, trays, and PCBs
- Verify component part numbers, orientation, feeder locations, and machine setup
- Run PCB assembly programs and monitor production
- Operate and monitor reflow ovens
- Perform product changeovers and line setup
- Inspect first-article and production assemblies
- Operate or assist with SPI and automated inspection equipment
- Identify placement, solder paste, feeder, component, and reflow problems
- Replenish components during production
- Handle ESD-sensitive and moisture-sensitive electronic components
- Track and store partially used component reels
- Assist with PCB rework, cleaning, depaneling, inspection, and testing
- Perform routine machine cleaning and preventive maintenance
- Maintain an organized and ESD-safe production environment
- Work directly with Nuand engineers to identify and solve manufacturing problems
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience working in PCB or electronics manufacturing is preferred.
Relevant experience includes:
- SMT pick-and-place machines
- SMT production lines
- Feeder setup and changeover
- Solder paste printing
- Reflow ovens
- SPI or AOI
- Component and material handling
- PCB inspection
- PCB assembly and rework
- Electronics manufacturing equipment
Experience with Juki, Yamaha, Panasonic, Fuji, ASM, Mycronic, NeoDen, or other SMT equipment is useful, but experience with a particular machine brand is not required.
We are also interested in experienced electronics assemblers who have worked around SMT production equipment and want to learn line operation.
Experience with 0201 components, BGAs, QFNs, fine-pitch devices, and high-density PCB assemblies is a plus.
A college degree is not required.
We care about practical manufacturing experience, attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn.
