I am interested in doing some research with GNSS and am curious if anyone has suggestions for a GPS antenna that works well with the bladerf. I suspect that any passive antenna will work. Will I need an active antenna, and if so, I'm assuming the bladerf does not provide power and that I'll have to inject that on my own (removing DC bias before it goes to the rf front end). If I need an active antenna, does anyone know of an easy solution for doing the dc injection? I would rather buy something that works and is tuned for a GPS antenna rather than building my own and risk getting it wrong and squelching the gps signal.

This might be overkill but it's definitely something that does exactly what you want for the intended application.

You can also use a hand made bias-tee like the one showed in this post

Since the GPS signal is expected to be at -150 to -160dBm you would need at least 30dB external gain if you want to be able to receive anything.
You can get many such antennas in eBay
