bladeRF Micro Single board phase coherency

Post by mando238 »

Looking over the AD9361 Datasheet I see that the two receive channels use the Same Local Oscillator. So I browsed around and found that some are saying that this should enable the 2 Rx channels on same board should to be phase coherent. Does this mean the 2 RX channels on a bladeRF micro are coherent? If they are not "out of the box" would there be an FPGA configuration that could make this the case?

Also, I did see the bladeRF micro phase coherency topic, but that was asking about synchronizing multiple boards.

The the RX channels share the same PLL for the data converters, and they share the same LO. Theoretically they should be coherent, so the phase variance between the two RX chains should be very minimal. This functionality is "out of the box", not much besides enabling the two RX chains is needed, the two RX chains share their PLL and LO by default.
