Detecting External Clock on SMB

Hi all,
I would like to know if it is possible, from the libbladerf library, to detect the presence (or absence) of a clock connected to the SMB port.
I thought it would be possible to use "bladerf_get_smb_frequency" after setting "bladerf_set_smb_mode(bladeRFdev, BLADERF_SMB_MODE_INPUT)", but the value returned is always 0.
Let me know if there is a way to do this, I would like to report an error to the user when no clock is connected.
I'm using release 2016.06.
Regards,
Serge
